Dispatchers play a crucial role in being primary contact and coordinating the timely pickup and delivery of life-saving and critical supplies for our clients from beginning to end.


Job Overview:
OnWay Transport is seeking a skilled Dispatcher to manage the final mile transport of urgent, life-saving medical deliveries. This position requires precision, communication, and quick problem-solving in a high-pressure environment. Dispatchers will serve as the primary liaison between clients and Independent Contractors, ensuring that every delivery is handled with care, accuracy, and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Managing Requests:
Efficiently handle OnDemand urgent pickup and delivery requests. Ensure that all orders are entered, verified, and processed accurately and without delay.

Coordinating Logistics:
Prioritize time-sensitive deliveries for Independent Contractors, optimizing routes to enhance performance while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and drivers. Provide real-time updates, resolve issues, and coordinate with Recruiting and other internal teams as needed.

Problem-Solving:
Assess challenges and provide fast, effective solutions to ensure uninterrupted service and client satisfaction.

Teamwork:
Support and back up fellow Dispatch Team members as needed to maintain operational coverage and service levels.

Dispatching Duties:

  • Client Relationships: Respond promptly to all calls from clients and Independent Contractors.

  • Delivery Management: Create, schedule, and manage OnDemand orders using Xcelerator software to maximize efficiency.

  • Order Verification: Confirm that all order details are accurate from request through completion.

  • Driver Assignment: Assign Independent Contractors to specific pickup and delivery locations based on customer needs.

  • Software Utilization: Use Xcelerator and MobileTek Core App to monitor and manage the full delivery cycle.

  • Shift Close-Out: Ensure all orders are cleared from the dispatch board by the end of shift, or provide reason to Supervisor or Dispatch Lead.

  • Phone System Management: Operate a multi-line phone system, prioritizing incoming calls in a fast-paced setting.

  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear, respectful communication with all stakeholders to promptly address any concerns.

  • Professionalism: Approach all interactions with a positive attitude, calm demeanor, and solution-focused mindset.

  • Organizational Skills: Maintain strong organizational and communication skills to support high-level dispatch performance.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts, three days per week
  • Rotating schedule includes every other Wednesday

  • Day Shift: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Night Shift: 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM
